Deepwell Underground Televised Inspection (UTVI)

USES AND APPLICATIONS:

New well construction inspection.
Actual as-built construction and quality of the work is readily seen.

Period inspection.
Determines existing well conditions and perform preventive maintenance. Problems in the operation of a deepwell is usually found underground – the deepwell structure in the subsurface that is usually out of sight from an ordinary observer. The UTVI is useful in determining the as-built design and current condition of a deepwell and its water-intake structures (well screens or slotted casings) by capturing in video the whole length of the deepwell. Appropriate improvements in the deepwell can be made if its underground structural conditions are known.

Deepwell Drilling / Rehabilitation Contract Management

The utilization of groundwater through wells is common and essential to water-intensive industries especially in areas with inadequate or no surface / municipal water available. The construction of a deepwell or the rehabilitation of an older well are costly investments and as such they must be done appropriately and effectively. Differences in hydrogeological environments lead to differing drilling conditions and challenges that must be handled with care and specialized hydrogeological knowledge that BTCSI can offer. BTCSI represents the client in ensuring that the drilling or rehabilitation contractor uses sound and suitable drilling equipment, appropriate materials and manpower. BTCSI supervises deepwell tests and the results of these tests are used to properly design pumping equipment that will optimally extract groundwater to meet client’s needs.
